Well, it sure has been a while since I've sat down to do a beauty post!
I am pretty excited to bring you today's post, featuring 6 shades from Maybelline's Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Colours! I believe there are 8 shades in total, I'm just short Orange Shot & Nude Flush. But we've got the rest of the gang here!
You might've seen these lippies making their way around Instagram and the beauty world earlier this year. I was so kindly sent a few of them to try and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to introduce a bit of beauty back into Sunday Chapter.
Claims from the Maybelline website:
"Drench your lips in double the pigments for the ultimate colour payoff with a comfortable, matte finish. Bolder and fiercer than ever before, New Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Color has a luxurious matte finish that’s never dry or flat."
These lip colours act true to their name – they are incredibly vivid. Some are even a little too daring for my liking, but I can appreciate how intensely pigmented they are. The applicator wand makes them super easy to apply without lip liner and a little goes a very long way. When applied, they initially give a slight tingling to the lips but it should be noted that these do not dry to a completely matte finish as you can probably tell through my photos. They do dry up a little, but have a glossy liquid lipstick finish if anything. I was slightly disappointed about this as matte finishes are my favourite. The only time they start to go fully "matte" is when they wear off your lips and leave quite a strong stain.
What I do love about these lip colours is the pigmentation and lasting power. Like I said, even after the gloss goes it turns into a nice stain which lasts almost all day (particularly the darker shades). And for you fellow dry lip girls, I'm pleased to say they wont be drying out your lips.
